Posted on March 7th, 2010 in Oregon Wine Country Activities.

The Lobenhaus had a very special visitor the other day – a handsome American Bald Eagle!  Wish I could share a photo… but he gave me the eagle eye & soared away.  Mr. Eagle was flying from tree to tree watching the rainbow trout in our pond.  Absolutely beautiful in flight!  Here is a partial list of winged friends you may sight (seasonal & transient)) around our grounds of natural habitat woods, creek & vineyards: Downy woodpeckers, Steller & scrub Jays, White crowned sparrows, American Robins, Black-capped Chickadees, Rufous Towhees, House Wrens, Viotent-green & Barn Swallows, Northern (Bullocks’s) Orioles,  Belted Kingfishers, Killdeer,  Common flicker, Red-winged Blackbirds, Anna’s & Rufous Hummingbirds, Cedar Waxwings, American Goldfinch, Mourning Doves,Western Bluebirds, Evening Grosbeaks… by the water: Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Turkey Vultures, American Kestrel, Mallards, Buffle Heads & Wood Ducks.. at night, various owls may serenade… they keep out of sight & are not identified.  We welcome your visit, a day or two, or just an afternoon – bring binoculars, picnic &  Oregon Pinot Noir!
